Manuel Oliver

(18th and 19th centuries)

Little is known of the biography and artistic production of Manuel Oliver except that he was a student of the School of Fine Arts of the Llotja. It is documented that the Royal Board of Trade of Barcelona awarded him a grant to continue his sculpture studies in Rome and that he resided in the Italian capital from 1791 to 1795. The Roman Academy of San Luca awarded him a prize, the first it had ever given to a Spanish artist.
