Damià Campeny’s two plaster lions lie in the Hall of Lions, one with its head raised as if on the alert and about to let out a roar, while the other relaxes with its head resting on its paws.

In the Hall of Lions, the anteroom of the Consular Hall, on the second floor of the Llotja, there are two plaster sculptures representing two large lions that give the hall its name. Damià Campeny created them in accordance with the contract he signed in 1825 with the Royal Board of Trade of Barcelona.
