Vases by Damià Campeny

  • Description

  • Work's History

Damià Campeny’s talent manifested itself both in the creation of artistic pieces and in the fact that they had a strictly decorative purpose. The two vases now located in the Lucretia Hall respond to this ornamental intention. They are very elegant; they have a lengthened shape, the neck is also stylised, and the handles, still more prominent, curve around to enter the mouth of the vase.

The pieces are dedicated to Bacchus and Hercules.

On the main wall of the Lucretia Hall, previously occupied by the sculpture that gave the room its name, there are now two large ornamental vases dedicated to Bacchus and Hercules, the work of Damià Campeny.
