Coat of Arms of the Virgin by Salvador Gurri

  • Description

The Coat of Arms of the Virgin, a work by Salvador Gurri in rounded shape and with a powerful high relief, is surrounded by laurel leaves and adorned with garlands tracing out the letters M and A, in reference to the name of the Mare de Déu. Two small winged heads located at its sides support the crowning and various elements such as a cross, a bell, a vase or a censer.

The coat of arms is situated on the lintel of the doorway that formerly gave access to the chapel, in the Carrer dels Encants wing of the courtyard of the Llotja.
